Twas the day before C word.

Christmas in my book used to be in December, now it seems to start a couple of months before. I tend not to mention it until December the 1st but as its the day before, I'm doing the same as everyone else and getting in early. Today has been a great one. Morning coffee at Dejabrew which is always a treat on a Saturday morning, Met Mark and his son on the way out and had a quick chat. Another great supporter of @Love_SE4 and always great to see. Second on the list the brilliant Chelwood Nursery winter celebration. A great local nursery school that so many have been too. It was great to go there today and see all the brilliant stuff on offer. Sitting round an open fire toasting marshmallows, or trying your luck at some of the many great stalls, to win great prizes. I got there just as the massive queue of eager parents and kids started to file through the gate. It was great to see such marvellous support and everyone had a wonderful time. Lewisham Foodbank at Tesco in Lewisham

Image
Last week I met up with Lewisham Foodbank and volunteered a few hours at Tesco. Collecting food from shoppers to add to the stockpile out back.  Its a real shame that in todays society there are now over 2000 Trussell Trust food banks in the United Kingdom. A shocking figure, when we are supposedly one of the richest countries in the world. Without initiatives like this one set up by Tesco's to collect food all over the country, thousands of people would go hungry every week.  It was amazing fun meeting all the volunteers who came and helped out that day, and of course the lovely Carol Bostridge the boss of the food bank in Lewisham. Who was on hand to keep us all in good spirit and under control.   This is her with one of the Lewisham branch managers, of Tesco's who couldn't have been more nicer.                                         ...

Let me take you round the Station Hotel in Hither Green. A stunningly beautiful referb by Youngs Pubs, has transformed this already great place, into an even lovelier place to be. The food is amazing that right there was my lunch on my second visit and believe me its one of the tastiest burgers around here. There's a fully stocked bar that caters to every need from coffee to cocktails they do it all I love what they've done to the garden and imagining many a summer night spent out there Everywhere you look inside is just stunning, the dinning rooms and bar are light and airy but create a great warm atmosphere either relaxing or eating Plenty of beers to choose from and a massive selection of wines  its just a great place to be Dog friendly too.  Although please don't feed Aussie. The pub dog I love the different fire places they have in there the big one has a tv above to watch all the big games and events. ...
