Twas the day before C word.

Christmas in my book used to be in December, now it seems to start a couple of months before. I tend not to mention it until December the 1st but as its the day before, I'm doing the same as everyone else and getting in early. Today has been a great one. Morning coffee at Dejabrew which is always a treat on a Saturday morning, Met Mark and his son on the way out and had a quick chat. Another great supporter of @Love_SE4 and always great to see.

Second on the list the brilliant Chelwood Nursery winter celebration. A great local nursery school that so many have been too. It was great to go there today and see all the brilliant stuff on offer. Sitting round an open fire toasting marshmallows, or trying your luck at some of the many great stalls, to win great prizes. I got there just as the massive queue of eager parents and kids started to file through the gate. It was great to see such marvellous support and everyone had a wonderful time. Love the tree from Shannons Garden Centre.

Next on the list of places to go today was Havelock Studios in Forest hill. On tomorrow as well if you fancy it. I love this place so many great artists with a huge selection of art for sale. I finally got my Liz Atkin original that I have been after for nearly two years. I tweeted about Liz back then and never thought I would ever meet her. Until I went there. It was great to see her today as I admire her work so much.  Trust  me you have to go tomorrow. Or look out for the next open studios next year and go then. My favourites today were the two huge figures that have just come back from America, made entirely of coat hangers. And the brilliant wobbly wood creatures created by Jeff But there is something there for everyone, and you really have to pay this place a visit.

Next up Jerome's Wine Bar and Shop in Crofton Park. Two reasons for popping in there. The window display and to meet one of my loyal supporters who has followed @Love_SE4 since the beginning and has always given me such great support, the lovely Flora who happened to be sitting in the other window as I walked past. It was great to catch up with Jerome and I have to thank him for the delicious glass of white wine. I always thought red was best but this one was superb.

Off to Brockley Nature Reserve next for another great open day and more marshmallows round an open fire. We are so lucky to have such great natural places round here and this one is special. Prof was there from local band The Bleeding Liberties, strumming away and keeping warm next to the fire, and loads of others taking advantage of the open day strolling around the reserve. Really looking forward to Boxing Day this year as its open that day with Live music and a chance to catch up with friends and neighbours after Christmas. A definite date for your diaries.

Bumped into the lovely Vicky Foxcroft our local MP on my way up the hill to Hill Station Cafe. I haven't seen her for ages and it was great to chat. @Love_SE4 is non political, but its hard not to mention such a great person who does so much for our local community. I wish her all the best in a couple of weeks time although I doubt she has too much to worry about as she's such a great MP who gets stuff done.

Hill Station Cafe was busy as always and the quick coffee I had to warm myself up was top notch. It was also nice to meet the lovely Mary Jane Baxter who was signing copies of her books at the brilliant Hill traders inside the cafe.

Off to a place I've never been before the brillaint Haberdashers Aske's Hatcham Temple Grove Free School who went over the top completely bringing Harry Potter to the many people who were there today. so good.

Off to Brockley Brewery for a quick pint of their delicious new ale Winter Gold that was just moreish. and a chance meeting with new dog on the block Gee gee. She's only three months old and so cute. I love the fact so many pubs, bars and tap rooms round here, let dogs in and look after them with dog treats and bowls of water. My two cats aren't happy about it though.

I was heading to the Festival of Lights at Beckenham Place Park but was persuaded to pay a visit to Crofton Park Tavern for a quick beer and never made it.

So that was my day before C word begins. I hope yours was just as nice and tomorrow is a great one as well. Although there are no trains tomorrow so it looks like being even more local than usual. Have a good one
