A day in the life.
Every day is different in my world at the moment. With Christmas nearly upon us there are so many great things going on all around us.
So I thought I would take you with me on a typical day for Love_SE4. Being a Wednesday it was off
to Catford. Always good to jump off the train and see Beats and Grinds by the station at Catford Bridge. He has his own blend of coffee now as well as lots of other merchandise. Great coffee and fresh pastries always a good way to start the day.
Just down the road next, to The Lewisham Irish Centre for the community breakfast. A great initiative that brings together groups and people from all over the place. A chance to chat with others while enjoying a superb breakfast cooked and prepared by all the volunteers. Its only been going for a month and is a really great place to go on a Wednesday morning. I loved sitting chatting to the guys from the walking football team, who play after in the hall. It was also great meeting some of the ladies who take part in the sit down yoga, that also takes place there on a Wednesday.
Back to Brockley to Dejabrew for a quick coffee, and and a catch up. By far the best place to go for breakfast or Lunch if your around the area. Right next door to the brilliant Brockley Rocks chip shop this place has become a firm favourite with so many people, its sometimes hard to get a table. But trust me when you do, You'll keep going back for more. Especially busy on a Sunday with all 116seats taken when I popped in at the weekend. This place goes from strength to strength.
Next up something I've been looking forward to. A chance to catch up with Bekir at Brockley brand new ice cream parlour, Sundae
Up and running now for just a couple of weeks it has already gained a great reputation 5 star reviews across the board. If you've lived round here for a while you will of course remember Turners. That was the go to place for just about everything, and whatever came next had to be something special. Its taken a long time but that's because Bekir has done all the work himself, turning it into the stunning place it has become now.
I was treated to a waffle the one you see above, absolutely gorgeous and a real treat on a cold day. Light, fluffy, yummy. Something everyone who follows me has to have in their lives. He has worked so hard to accomplish his dream and I'm so glad its going so well, Customers cannot help but leave with big smiling faces as the food is so good. Brilliant edition to the Brockley Family.
One last thing the coffee.s great and to top it all off they do giant biscuits. Proud of you mate, you've done such a great job, Your going to be rammed in the summer.
Off to Catford Mews next to see a film I've been looking forward to seeing for ages. Ford vs Ferrari Thanks to the boss for the invite I did just that. A great film and as I was only one of two people watching it that early its was great to relax in their comfy chairs and not have to worry about pop corn wars, or people constantly talking.
The Mews has fast become a meeting place, not just to watch films but to chill with friends at the bar or relaxing with coffee and some of the amazing food on offer. They have some great films coming up over Christmas as well as The Enchanted Mews and loads of events. The film was brilliant and as I left I was in for a surprise.
I knew Lionel Staanhope was doing another of his awesome murals, but I didn't know where, until I walked round the corner. Walking past Super Sets who moved from Ladywell to their new site after a lot of hard work renovating the place Last year I think. I could be wrong. Anyway Lional happened to be on the other side of the fence and invited me in to take a look. Sadly mr cat is on the inside, so you won't get to see him much. But trust me its up to his usual standard and is loved by everyone who works there.
Off home to feed the cats before setting out once more
Off to see this man man here next. The brilliant Jay from Budgens in Crofton Park firstly to congratulate him on making it into the latest Noel Gallagher Christmas video (he's in it for a split
second at the beginning, through the window) The Video is up on My twitter feed below this I believe. See if you can recognise Santa in the video? Talking of which that's why I came here in the first place to do this
Well it is Christmas
Walking outside you cannot help but notice we have new trees in Crofton Park. Not the Christmas one, that arrives Saturday, courtesy of Shannons Garden Centre, and a lot of help from Jane can do. The new trees will look stunning when they're a bit older but for now its great to see them finally there.
My final stop of the day. Crofton Park Tavern, not for a beer but to see how the decorating going, mad goings on with some of the weirdest baubles I ever did see. They did make me laugh. seriously though I much prefer the Tavern to Jam Circus. and it does look amazing
And that my friends is a kind of typical day for @Love_SE4 I try and get out most days and love taking photos to keep you lot amused as your sat on a bus or curled up on the sofa. Thanks to everyone I met today. You never know tomorrow it might be your turn. Have a great day, evening or whenever your reading this. we shall do it again soon
